An Indian Monsoon.

Wading through an Indian Monsoon

Inspired by a video still in captured in Chitrakoot, India in 2012. This painting conveys locals’ determinedness to forge ahead to continue earning a living on their boats as a river bursts its banks at the height of the Indian monsoon.

My palette was a mix of burnt sienna and mustard yellow; dark shapes against a yellow and purple wash denote the determinedness of locals’ positive attitudes during the difficult monsoon.
